Meet the ReputationDefender Team – 4/16/2010

Welcome to another awesome edition of Meet the ReputationDefender Team! Last time out, we met former journalist and world traveler Adam Tanguay, who heads up MyEdge efforts for ReputationDefender. Today, we say hello to Veena Padmanabhan, who keeps busy in the all-important role of Financial Planning and Analytics Manager.

Say hi to Veena below.

Who are you and what do you do?

My good name is Veena Padmanabhan. I work as the Financial Planning and Analytics Manager. I take care of payroll, ad hoc reporting, accounts payable and the list goes on, as I enjoy having my hands in a lot of jars.

What did you do prior to joining ReputationDefender?

I went to school in California and New York City. From the time I arrived in the Big Apple to now, I have worked in a number of different finance roles from investment banking to financial consulting in Europe.

What attracted you to ReputationDefender?

I had never heard of reputation management until I read about ReputationDefender. As I did my research about the industry and the company, I came to this conclusion: the bottom line at ReputationDefender is to help individuals recapture their online reputation and give them power over their life online. I wanted to be a part of team that strived toward this goal of helping people.

Why do you think it’s important for people to manage their reputations online?

Individuals, young and old should take charge of their reputation. I always think to myself that face to face (in-person), you can stand up for yourself and not let someone deface you. It should be the same way in the virtual world. You should be able to defend yourself and take charge of who you are on the web, and ReputationDefender helps our clients put their best feet forward online..

When you’re not helping individuals control and protect their good names online, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I volunteer, hike, garden and travel. I enjoy reading and spending time with my friends and family.

Meet the ReputationDefender Team – 04/02/2010

Welcome to another awesome edition of Meet the ReputationDefender Team! Last time out, we met marketing manager Adam Faughnan. Today, we say hello to the other Adam on the ReputationDefender team, former journalist and world traveler Adam Tanguay. Learn more about Adam below.

ReputationDefender Adam

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Adam Tanguay and I’m the Head Writer and Team Leader of ReputationDefender’s Publication and Editorial department. My main operational focus is the MyEdge product, but I also work on general company R&D, marketing, product development, and PR efforts whenever I get the chance.

What did you do prior to joining ReputationDefender?

I studied Political Science and English at the University of California at Davis. I spent several wonderful years as an Arts and Entertainment Reporter with the California Aggie and also did some reporting for the Vallejo Times-Herald.

What attracted you to ReputationDefender?

The world of print journalism became a little stagnant for me, so I decided to find something new and exciting. This obviously led me right to ReputationDefender’s doorstep.

Why do you think it’s important for people to manage their reputations online?

Where do you go to research new products? New people? New ideas? Everything is online, and there are very few laws governing how one may interact with and manipulate this information. You must be proactive and control your digital image before someone else does.

When you’re not helping individuals control and protect their good names online, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to explore the physical world. You know, places that aren’t found inside computers. Like forests, mountains, lakes… and fast-food restaurants.

Meet the ReputationDefender Team – 03/19/2010

It’s been a couple of weeks since our last edition of Meet the ReputationDefender Team, but we’re back in a big (and international) way. Last time out, we said hello to Tom Thompson, one of our dedicated client solutions managers. Today, we want to introduce you to Marketing Manager Adam Faughnan.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Adam Faughnan and I am a Marketing Manager here at ReputationDefender. If a person sees our ads online or hears us on the radio, there is a good chance my sweat and toil went into creating it…and analyzing it…and refining it.

What did you do prior to joining ReputationDefender?

I’m Irish and got my Masters in E-Commerce. After meeting my wife in San Francisco, while visiting as a student, I took the plunge and decided to live the “American Dream” (I got a big screen TV) and worked with a marketing company, MyPoints, for three years. I then worked as a Product Manager for an online casino in Ireland, managing both the product offering (Blackjack loses its charm after five hours of testing) and technical support.

What attracted you to ReputationDefender?

I came to RD because of the people that work here and the overall goal of the company, which is to help and protect individuals online. That, and the free lunches on Friday.

Why do you think it’s important for people to manage their reputations online?

We are truly living in a world where everyone has a presence online, whether you like it or not. Managing your reputation is crucial in your life, whether it is the difference between getting a job or promotion, or just in how people think of you in general. Your life is shaped by your reputation and we help you shape it in the right way.

When you’re not helping individuals control and protect their good names online, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I play football (soccer for most Americans, but we called it football first and actually kick the ball with our feet) a couple of times a week. Also, my new born baby is keeping me busy.

Meet the ReputationDefender Team – 03/05/2010

Last week on Meet the ReputationDefender Team, we introduced you to Marisa Zuiderweig, our intrepid and totally awesome Human Resources Manager. Today we want you to meet Tom Thompson, one of the members of ReputationDefender’s Client Solutions Management Team.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Tom Thompson. I advise current and potential ReputatationDefender clients on how to utilize ReputationDefender’s products to manage their online images.

What did you do prior to joining ReputationDefender?

Many things. While earning my degree in Political Science from Texas State University I worked as a legislative aid in the Texas State Senate. Following graduation, I traveled the world helping private and international school students improve their academic capabilities, before working for a firm that houses the world’s largest network of subject-matter experts, Gerson Lehrman Group. There I served in a variety of roles in its Texas and California offices.

What attracted you to ReputationDefender?

Great leadership and innovative solutions that help individuals, families, non-profits and businesses protect themselves online.

Why do you think it’s important for people to manage their reputations online?

People and businesses spend countless hours and dollars critiquing their resumes, building their careers, and marketing their businesses. However, many neglect to manage their reputations online, where information is available 24/7. Monitoring and controlling this information can help our personal and professional lives, as well as to promote and protect our businesses.

When you’re not helping individuals control and protect their good names online, what do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I run two non-profit organizations; one that helps children with cystic fibrosis discover the joy and health benefits of surfing, and another that helps students learn how to start their own businesses and gives them the resources to do so. I also enjoy any activity that involves being outdoors, primarily surfing and skiing.
